Mews house alteration and extension. Our client, a developer, appointed RBD to extensively redesign the property to create a modern and desirable home. We obtained planning consent to form a new lower basement and 2nd floor roof extension and roof terrace
The Design Response
Planning consent was obtaining from City of Westminster and licence approval from Grosvenor Estate. The original internal floors and roof structure were demolished behind a retained and altered façade before excavating and forming a new lower ground floor extension and new second floor roof extension creating a double height reception room, home cinema & gym, 3 additional ensuite -bedrooms and a large roof terrace over 4 floors.
The entrance hall sets the tone of this elegant residence. Large slab marble floor with a glass floor panel finished with polished metal trim is a feature on each floor allowing light to flow through the building to the lower floors. As well as the main architectural package, RBD designed an extensive range of custom fitted joinery throughout the project.

Andy did a fantastic job of laying out the space in both properties resulting in both apartments achieving the full asking price in record time.
